Jerry Sheehan

Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer

Montana State University

Jerry Sheehan is the Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Montana State where he has responsibility for the IT infrastructure and services supporting the learning, discovery, and outreach missions of the University.

He is also the Principal Investigator on the Bridger Research Network (dedicated data-intensive science network), which also integrates with the Pacific Research platform, both funded by the National Science Foundation.

Prior to his arrival in 2014 to Montana State, Mr. Sheehan was the Chief of Staff for the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (Calit2). The institute was focused on applying emerging technologies to the needs of the citizens of the state of California in application areas including the digital transformation of culture, energy, the environment, and health care.

Mr. Sheehan also served as an Associate Vice President for Information Technology at Purdue University, a Deputy Director for the National Center for Supercomputing Applications, and as an Assistant to the Lt. Governor of Illinois.
